There You Are

In 2021, I wrote a song called There You Are. I was amazed that our God could create our universe – the distant stars and nebulae, as well the fish in our streams. But aside from His incredible creative abilities, He wants to relate with us – He loves us and wants to be with us. I wrote this song to try to put these feelings to melody.

I’m still a newbie when it comes to songwriting, but I ran the song by some friends on the praise team at my church, and they suggested that we play it for special music. So on August 29, we played it for our church. You can see the replay of it here.

Since then, I’ve recorded it at home and released it on various streaming platforms via DistroKid. If you feel so inclined, please check it out on the platform of your choosing:

Lyrics:

I see an orphan
I see a refugee
I see a stranger
I see the King

I see a lawyer
I see a businessman
I see my Savior
The Lion and the Lamb

There You are, with sinner and the saint
There You are, in the healthy and the drained
There You are, in cathedrals and in bars
On the moon and past the stars, there You are

I see a sunset
I see a crowded beach
I see a bus stop
I see the least of these

There You are, with sinner and the saint
There You are, in the healthy and the drained
There You are, in cathedrals and in bars
On the moon and past the stars, there You are

You are here in joy and pain
You are in the wind and rain
You’re in every breath of air
All creation sings Your praise
You are here now and always
We can find You everywhere

There You are, with the cynic and the child
There You are, in the urban and the wild
There You are, in the desert and the flood
In our bones and in our blood, there You are
There You Are
